Happy Birthday Becka Dawn!

Happy Birthday BeckyThis is my favorite sister (to fight with)
She has the cutest sense of style out of all of us (except when she dresses me, then I'm cuter)
She may be the craziest (and that's saying a bunch, check out my previous post)
She is the pickiest eater of all the sisters (but the skinniest, so maybe the Sprite, cold cereal, mac and cheese diet works)
She is the one human in the world that can ALWAYS read my lips when I'm in peril (and she can read my eyes as well)
She was always so helpful with my college photography assignments (note picture above)
And she's the only sister that we all can call "little"
Love ya, Happy Birthday Kakapoopootoilethead

So I guess I like Bruce Willis

It's really very bizarre, you know, the things you think about when you are up at three in the morning. Well last night, after feeding Jake, trying to get back to sleep, I starting thinking about what I would ask Bruce Willis in an interview. Why do you ask? Hell if I know. I like Bruce Willis movies, but I'm not some kind of obsessed fan. So why would I choose Bruce at three in the morning? There is no explanation. Why not Bono, who has been my celebrity crush seventeen years running? Don't know. I did ask Bruce if he enjoyed the action movies he has been in more than the science fiction based movies he's done. He likes Sci Fi better in case anyone is wondering. I also asked him if Sam Jackson is his best friend in real life since he always seems to hang out with him in movies. Three A.M. Bruce enjoys working with him and they don't have to be friends in real life since they work together so much. So I then move on to ask if he has seen all of M. Night Shyamalan's films, or only those he's been in. Three A.M. Bruce only likes his own flicks. Mind you, I'm AWAKE thinking all of this, I wasn't asleep. I swear I don't drink either or do any drugs, I don't have to, I'm this bizarre without any help. I'm trying to figure out where Bruce came from. I was reading a vampire novel before I fell asleep for the night........ We did watch a "Battlestar Galactica" before I started reading.......... We ate Chick-Fil- A for dinner........Hey you know what?.........it still makes no sense.

Oh the Horror

So there comes a time in every baby's life where they annihilate their mothers with poop. Today was my day. I know, it's gross but I have to talk about it because of what Hayden said. Here's the story. Baby Jake decided to take a day off from pooping yesterday, but he made up for it this morning. I knew he was in a five hour old diaper but I decided to let him finish what he had started. Little did I know that it was THE DIAPER, the one I had been waiting for. I have never seen anything like it in my life. I panicked, Hayden panicked. I wasn't sure what to take care of first. There was poop on me (I'd been holding him), the Boppy I had him on, and all over Jake. The poopie on Jake was epic. It was up to his shoulder blades, down his legs. He was so happy to have done it that while on the changing table he was kicking and waving his arms in victory, further spreading the poop. I couldn't figure out how to get his shirt off his body without getting poop on his head. While I turned to grab the huge towel I'd brought in I felt something on my foot. Oh yes, he now was peeing on my foot. My foot, the changing table basket, the carpet and the dog. I turn to see Hayden out of the corner of my eye covering his ears with his eyes shut. He tells me, " We've got to call the cops Mom, it's just too bad here." I felt horrible that I was so frantic about poop that Hayden felt the situation was bad enough to call the cops on. I told him that the cops had better things to do, let's call Dad instead. It took another hour of bathing, re-bathing, Clorox-wiping, soaking and washing down before the poop was contained. The freshly washed and dressed baby was in his crib talking to his mobile while I cleaned up the room. Next thing I know he has passed out cold from all the fun and Hayden's sitting in the chair talking about the cops. "Why don't the cops help with poop?" Hayden asked. I joked, "Maybe we should send some pictures to the CSI part of the cops Hayden so they could analyze it." That then opened a door that I shouldn't have opened because we had a twenty minute discussion about the CSI division. Anyway, the moral of the story is that you should never trust a five hour old bedtime diaper, never discuss divisions of the police department with kids under ten, and never forget that naked baby boys have a three foot range. (Hayden's DIAPER happened while Grandma Bev was holding him standing up and it involved all of Grandma's clothing as well as the carpet.)

Almost Caught A Full Blown Smile!

Jake smiles now. I mean, full on smiles. He is awake even when he does it. The only problem is that they are very elusive and hard to catch. I never have the camera handy at three in the morning or during diaper changes and that's when the little stinker throws them at me. Then, this last Friday when Hayden was just about to leave for a round of golf with Grandaddy, I almost caught one! There aren't two cuter brothers. Seriously, Brandon and I do good work here. We so hope Jake stays with his dark hair and eyes because then we would have one just like me and one just like Brandon.

The Unkindest Cuts Of All

There are few things better in life than proof. I have proof that Beck, Jen and I look better now than we did ten years ago. No one will dispute this. I am the luckiest one in the shot based on hairstyle. Beck's hair is really special. You know.......... special. Jen's bangs are special too. The shirt I'm wearing, by the way, must have been my favorite since I have tons of photos with me in it. And you have to love my hanging sheet technique for the backdrop. I love you Beck and Jen, and I know you love me, that's why I know I'm safe posting this picture. Since you love me, I'm hoping for no retaliation.

Four Generations

I must first point out my the faces my baby is making. What the heck?! Is that what he does when I'm not looking?

I'm not sure who the crusty look in that third shot is aimed for, but I'm glad it's not me.

We had a wonderful time with Grandma, especially Hayden(who refused to be in any photos). He loved her automatic chair, her dining room and her proximity to a Conoco. He made Chloe walk there twice to fetch snacks. Love ya Chloe!
