Visiting Santa at the Mall

Auntie Shilo is so very brave. She fights her way through the mall every year and takes Hayden to see Santa. This year she took both of the boys. Jake apparently wasn't a fan. From what I hear, Hayden told Santa he wants a DVD player and "Wall-E". We will have to see what Santa does with that info. (Doesn't Jake look a little like Jimmy Neutron in that first shot?)

Jacob is Such a Tease

Jake likes to laugh at the dog outside. The dog doesn't live out there, he's just out there for Jake's amusement.

It's Been One of Those Weeks

So we just ended one of those weeks. I did not remember to take pictures on Thanksgiving, but it was great. We are so lucky because we get two dinners worth of leftovers in our fridge (twice that ham is twice as nice). Jen and Chloe came earlier in the week and Hayden broke out his body crayons. Madness ensued. Hayden kept talking through his third eye and Chloe couldn't stop drawing on her face. It was one of those nights where everything gets really funny, really fast. Please enjoy the video below of Hayden "watching" me with his eye. Jake also got his first haircut. Jen did that too. I had the worst scissors but Jen still managed to make it happen.

The Boys are Just Like Me!

Hayden, seen here in June of 2002, attacked the open fridge and grabbed the chocolate syrup.

Jake, seen here in November of 2008, attacks another fridge and grabs chocolate syrup.
That's My Boys!!!!

This is How I Spend a Significant Portion of My Day

I have now given up and accepted the fact that my sole purpose in life is just to keep those two boys alive. That little one has a death wish. He also has an evil little sense of humor. Those stairs have become his way of playing with me. He will put his hands on the bottom stair, turn to me, wait until I see him and then climb as fast as he can with his eyes shut, laughing. Please note the terror and concern on poor Hayden's face. He hates the baby climbing the stairs. I have now added "Never Leave the Baby Alone in the Living Room" to my list of house rules. We did put a gate at the top of the stairs though. Now I have to figure out how to block the bottom of them.

Things That Bother Me

I was going to call this posting "Things I Hate" but I thought it might be a tad too strong. I think it's a combo of the Christmas season starting at work and the lack of sleep I've been getting lately that is making me easily agitated. So here is my list of the things that are bothering me lately.
  1. Rivers Cuomo's mustache
  2. The magic of Oxy Clean working its magic on all the dirty clothes in the house but mine.
  3. My cell phone being way too technologically advanced for me
  4. My universal remote being way too technologically advanced for me
  5. My seven year old being way too technologically advanced for me.
  6. Never being able to find even one of my many, many lip glosses
  7. "Head-On" commercials
  8. Grout
  9. The weird yogurt spit/burp that lands on your hand or shirt when you open a Yoplait
  10. Mondays

I feel a bit better now. Maybe one day I'll write a list of things I enjoy......but don't hold your breath.
