Boys are Fun

Jake has found a new hiding place under his crib. He now escapes there when he should be getting ready for bed. His big brother doesn't help by hiding under there too.

Jake finally has some flip flops. He's cursed with the tall, fat feet like his brother so shoes are hard to find. We love Target. They have the best selection. That's where we got these lovely blue and yellow ones. Notice the bite marks on the shoe on the right. Jake loves to chew on flip flops too. It's not right, but I stop him as often as possible.

Here are the boys playing in the garage. Hayden is wearing the shirt he made at school last Monday for "Camp Week". It was fun picking him up on Friday when all his classmates were wearing similar shirts. He's in his last week now. Summer is about to officially begin. Now if the weather would only cooperate..........

Thanksgiving Point

Do you ever realize that you live in Utah and you've never been to certain local attractions that tourists come here to see? Well I am one of those people. I'm trying to reform. I'm starting slowly. We went to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point today. When we first got there we laughed at the golf cart rentals. Then we got halfway through the gardens. Boy oh boy, we sure weren't laughing then. It's huge. Seriously huge, but beautiful. I'm sure when all the tulips were blooming in spring it was gorgeous.
I love this statue
Here is the entrance to the Secret Garden. Have you ever read that book? Well the designer of this garden must have because it's just what you'd imagine a secret garden to be. I could have stayed there all day.

Brandon and I taking a picture while Hayden wandered away (don't worry, we found him)

Isn't he sweet?

Those fish were hungry. If Hayden had gotten his toes any closer to the water he'd be missing a few.

The Children's Garden

Jake testing the waters

Hayden giving me a performance

I just really liked these ducks

I told Hayden to make a face like the bear
We are now on our way to becoming better Utahns.... I'll let you know if we ever make it to Moab.

Sunny May Day

Jake moves much too fast for me to keep him in frame anymore.
We thought we'd try out Hayden's old bike. I love the handle on the back. Actually, the handle on the back is required since he can't actually reach the pedals.
We're glad summer is finally here!

I've Tried, But I Can't Take it Anymore

I'm not sure what my problem is, but for some reason this purse (and all similar versions of it) makes me crazy. I work in retail and I see a lot of women with their purses but lately I only see one purse. This weird red trimmed giraffe print purse. I don't think it's the purse itself that bothers me, it is how often I see it. I see it at least a dozen times a day. That's twelve times. That is a crazy amount of similar purses running around out there. I am not big into fashion (I have sisters who take care of that for me) so I don't usually notice things like purses, but this purse caught my eye and won't let it go. Help! Please put a stop to the giraffe purse. Thank you for your time.

It's Been a Decade?... Really?

I've been married for then years today! Happy Anniversary Brandon!
The top ten things I've learned while being married for ten years
  1. Never fight on an empty stomach
  2. Don't get mad if your spouse comes home with a big purchase you knew nothing about, just go out and buy something too!
  3. Keep at least one secret from your spouse, then, every so often, bring up the fact that you have a secret (just to keep them on their toes).
  4. If you know you are better at one particular chore, like laundry, just do the laundry. Seriously, you just do it. Do not wait for them to figure it out. Odds are they are better at something you always mess up, let them be the expert at that.
  5. Do something together after the kids go to sleep, even if it's only watching the sacred, sacred Tivo.
  6. Get a good lock on your bedroom door.
  7. Remember to use the lock on your bedroom door.
  8. Smile at each other.
  9. Plan regular evenings, weekends or trips without your children (we're getting better at this right babe?) and then don't listen to those same children when they try to guilt you into letting them come with you.
  10. Say "I love you" and mean it.

......And now the top ten things I love about my husband

  1. He has never made me mow the lawn.
  2. He loves our kids as much as I do. It's fun to watch the boys greet their dad after a long day of work. I hope it's because they are happy to see him, and not just that they are relieved to no longer be alone with me.
  3. He buys me great birthday, anniversary, Valentine's and Christmas gifts.
  4. He likes my cooking (and he knows when to keep it quiet when he doesn't enjoy it).
  5. He likes spending time with me.
  6. He notices when I attempt to look cute for him. He even says things like "I like it when you wear belts."
  7. He tries so hard to make me fit into my technologically advanced family.
  8. He always waits up for me to come home from work.
  9. I have never, ever, not even once, wondered if he loves me.
  10. He is so supportive of everything I do.

Love you Brandon!
